Rune was vastly powerful. He was a cosmic vampire that absorb the souls and power of his victims, which were mostly Ultras or other very powerful beings.

Abilities
He had the ability of flight and could survive in the vacuum of space without life support. He was virtually indestructible, he could heal from being decapitated, although it my take years to heal depending on how severe his injuries were. He could also project energy bolts from his hands.

Paraphernalia
Star Stones are colorful shards of an artifact that was known as the "the Eye of the Infinite". The stones would later become known as the "Black Heart of Darkness". The Star Stones housed the souls of Rune's fallen victims. It is documented that if one of the stones were destroyed, the souls within it would be released to do battle with their captive. Rune came to possess the stones early in his existence when he still possessed his human form. It was through the Star Stones that Rune was transformed into his demon form and enhanced strength and durability. Rune appeared to have considerable strength and durability without the stones as well.
