***06/23/2008 UPDATE: "Iron Man" nears $305 million domestically and $556 million worldwide!***
It feels like yesterday that ol' Shellhead blasted into theaters on May 2. But just eight weeks later, Marvel's Armored Avenger continues to soar to new heights. Marvel Studios' "Iron Man" just reached Hollywood's magical $300 million mark at the box office domestically and is quickly closing in on $550 million worldwide.
Fitting another notch in his belt (that is if he wore one), "Iron Man" became the first movie to cross $300 million in 2008!
Haven't seen enough of the playboy billionaire turned vigilante? "The Incredible Hulk," currently smashing the box office, features a short but oh-so-sweet Tony Stark cameo…and you don't have to wait until after the credits to see this one!
The not so jolly green giant has so far pulled in over $66 million domestically and aims to be another success—making Marvel Studios two for two.
Take pride faithful one; for there is no better time to be a Marvelite! You can find all the latest in Marvel movie news here with your friends at Marvel.com.
