Every week we'll pick a handful of awesome comics from the thousands available through Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. From creator spotlights to editor's picks and more, this'll be your spot to find something new and cool.

Iron Man has traveled a long way since his introduction in 1963, from actually being Iron while a POW in Vietnam, to a Techno-Organic wonder as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. So strap on your roller skate boots, because we're taking a little trip through Iron Man's career, courtesy of Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited

TALES OF
SUSPENSE #39

TALES OF SUSPENSE #39
You know the story: billionaire industrialist gets captured by North Vietnamese warlord, forced to build a weapon while shrapnel races to his heart. Of course, if it ended there, this would be a shorter article. Tony Stark builds himself a suit of armor that allows him to escape, and at some cost, the Marvel Universe gains one of its greatest heroes.

AVENGERS v1 #5

AVENGERS v1 #5
When sinister shockwaves rock the Marvel Universe, it's time for the Avengers to Assemble! Earth's Mightiest Heroes must battle the Lava Men for the future of the surface world in this Stan Lee/Jack Kirby tale. As a bonus, the issue opens with Tony Stark's mansion destroyed for the very first time!

IRON MAN #128

IRON MAN #128
One of the greatest Iron Man stories of all, "Demon in a Bottle," from Bob Layton, David Michelinie, and John Romita Jr. reminds us "That a hero is, above all, a man." Tony has to beat his own problems with alcohol in order to put his life back together, but can he be strong enough to solve a problem he can't handle as the Armored Avenger?

IRON MAN #225

IRON MAN #225
The beginning of the epic "Armor Wars" storyline, Tony Stark, back in control of his life and his company, finds out that his technology has been leaked and sold to villains. He vows to get his technology back...whatever the cost!

IRON MAN v4 #1

IRON MAN v4 #1
Warren Ellis and Adi Granov bring Iron Man into the 21st century in the first part of "Extremis." Tony Stark finds himself at a crossroads trying to stay ahead in a world where Iron Man seems increasingly obsolete. Meanwhile, a biological project called Extremis has been stolen from Maya Hansen by a mysterious group that seems intent on using it for no good!

"Iron Man" DVD and Blu-ray on sale Tuesday, Sept. 30. Preorder the Iron Man DVD now in a two-disc special edition, a single-disc edition or an ultimate two-disc Blu-ray edition. And be sure to head over to the official Iron Man movie site.
