Each week we highlight a classic storyline told in full inside Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, the greatest collection of Marvel comics available online! This week we focus on Brian K. Vaughan and Jorge Lucas' six-issue opening salvo on MYSTIQUE, "Drop Dead Gorgeous."
She's currently leading Logan on a merry chase through the pages of WOLVERINE—issue #64 hit stands April 9—but once upon a time not too long ago, the shape-shifting mutant known as Mystique gave James Bond and Nick Fury a run for their money as the hottest secret agent to ever wear a wire.
Courtesy of acclaimed scribe (and current "Lost" writer/producer) Brian K. Vaughan and artist Jorge Lucas, the first six issues of MYSTIQUE found the blue bombshell forced to work as a deep cover agent for Professor X in order to avoid the death penalty for her prior terrorist activities. With a support team that included former lover Forge and the inimitable Shortpack, Mystique headed off to Cuba for her first mission, where a new breed of Sentinels and plenty of intrigue laid in wait!
