Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, and SO SHOULD YOU!
2007-05-29 16:49:45
Apparently this blog has just become a way to push my #*&$ on you guys, but here I go again! The SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE VOL. 1 HARDCOVER! This baby is BEAUTIFUL (if I do say so myself)! Written by the talented Sean McKeever, SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE is a captivating and fun story about Mary Jane's world and how it intersects with the life of your friendly neighboorhood Spider-Man! If you haven't read SMLMJ, then you're missing out, so pick up this book and LOVE IT! If you ARE a fan of the comic, then YOU TOO should pick up this book as it is the ultimate collection for fans! So far SMLMJ has only been reprinted in digest format, but with THIS book you get to see Takeshi's amazing artwork — OVERSIZED! Not to mention the stunning colouring by the lovely Christina Strain! Not only that, she offers fans a chance to see how she works!! That's right! In the back of the book, we've got some pages showing you the process she uses for colouring and for the special screentoning effect she often employs (those little dots)! Thanks for giving us a behind the scenes peek at what you do, Christina!

So go to your comic shop or book store and check it out!! WOO!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!

--Jen "I'll always love Mary Jane" Grünwald

PS This collects Mary Jane #1-4, Mary Jane: Homecoming #1-4 & Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane #1-5!
What about the Tarjhay?
Doesn't the collection they sold count as "over-sized?"

I suppose...
But it was only available at Target, so I guess I forgot... :( Well, this OVERSIZED version has more issues and a HARD COVER. ;-)

. . . . .
i don't think m.j. should be with in the series....or somethin..... she seems too pathetic in some comics, but really tough and strong in others. we should all just stick to one story about spiderman. "bind together" ya know? although, i agree that we should still have different stories based on pete's age.

. . . .
We should just stick to one main story about spiderman. all throughout his comic life.

BTW--skool is 4 fools!

Huh?
Is this site really all just kids? but i do need to know: how do you get "hero" points?

quick q
i had a Q for trades department, so i'll ask here

are there any plans to collect Young Avengers or NEXTWAVE in those lovely OVERSIZED hardcovers instead of the flimsy premiere HCs? both titles richly deserve the extra pampering, and they're the right run size :)

Hero Points
I believe you get Hero Points by adding information THAT GETS APPROVED to the wikipedia-like handbook entries on this site.

Oversized HCs
Possibly, possibly not. Depends on demand, you know! :) However...Premiere's are NOT AT ALL flimsy! ;-)

Posted by trades department on 2007-09-03 13:08:39
well, ok , they're not flimsy, but they AREN'T HUUUGE enough to house the big-page action that is NEXTWAVE!! You need huge pages to enjoy the artwork and the KaBlooeing!

similar question goes for Thunderbolts by Warren Ellis... would there be a humongous oversized collection after the first 12 issues?

About this blog:
The misadventures and weird happenings of the loudest office at Marvel Comics, the trades department.

About the author:
Jennifer Grünwald (who yells a lot), Mike Short (who’s on the receiving end of much of Jen’s yelling), Mark D. Beazley (who tries to drown out Jen’s yelling with his rather odd tastes in music that probably annoy his fellow officemates) & Jeff Youngquist (who’s waaaaay too busy for you people) in the Trades Department bring you all your favorite Hardcovers, Trade Paperbacks & Digests along with Handbooks, Director’s Cuts, Marvel Spotlight, Milestones, Flip Magazines and pretty much EVERYTHING else outside of the monthlies (we’re very busy)! Let's talk.
