One of those mornings...
2007-07-20 10:46:57
Woke to the crow of the rooster this morning, followed by a call from my landlord reminding me that farm animals are, shockingly, not allowed in my apartment building. Hung up the phone, milked the cow and came into the office. You know what I'm saying... One of those days...

Sean came to work in his radiation suit again. That guy and his paranoia. I told him my Chernobyl Spring water was safe.

Anyway, thought I'd post a page of Chris Bachalo's art from X-Men 189 that we got a while ago. This is how Chris shows us his stuff. This page shows the new villains Chris and Mike Carey created, called the Children. They rule!

Check it out, pilgrims. I need to go poke holes in Sean's suit. Love messing with that guy...

So....
How do we know which one of you fine editor folk is posting each time? You really should have some sort of sign-off. This way, we can easily tell if it is Mike, Sean or Nick doing all the yammering (I just wanted to say yammering...ah, is that really a word? :p).
Anyway, if you fellas would please sign off with your name, that would be awesome. Thanks. :)

Cool beans
No fair teasing, now I can't wait even more to read this issue. I really wish I could draw like that though. Its awesome. And I love the little notes around it.........I mean I know the purpose is obvious, but its pretty nice to see all the preparations being done. Thank you.

Awesomeness
Chris Bachalo is so good! Big mistake taking him off Uncanny...I had to drop the title (insufficient funds). The reason I had to do that was because he's going to be drawing a different comic. Oh look...X-Men! I'm tellin y'all, he's a moneymaker for y'all. Don't let him rest.

Generation Next
...or whatever the Age of Apocolypse GenerationX book was.

Best artwork out of the entire AOA run, hands down.

beautiful

Cool
It's great but kind of confusing with just the black and white *waits for colors*

Posted by Rogue151 on 2006-06-21 19:50:09
sure it's a word
Yeah, sure, yammering's a word - I use it, anyway!
That was SO COOL to see a page in the works. Really neat. Oh, may I be one to point out that the originators of these are complete wackos. Hey, nothing wrong with being a wacko... or Yakko, or Dot, for that matter. :)

Not feeling Bachalo's art and not feeling Wol
I think Mike Carey is an excellent writer, but I'm kind of tired of these useless X-books, for all the hype of HoM we still got umpteen X-books and mutants getting their powers back left and right. The X-universe is so diluted with crap. Do we need an (Adjectiveless) X-men? or X-Facter? or Uncanny?

Theres nothing special about the X-men anymore it's the comicbook equivalent of movie franchise's like Terminator and Alien vs Predator.

Stop making more X-men books! It's redundant and tired. It's not the 90's anymore, just cause it got a 'X' slapped on the cover means it's gonna sell anymore or is any good.

I can't wait for Carey/Bachalo's run.

what the. . . !?!
okay, I've been seeing a lot of needless disapproving of posts, at least in my opinion. I mean, I don't see how maybe more than 2 of these 6 above could possibly be offensive. So, is there a wise-guy here who just likes making stuff orange, or WHAT?!?!?!?! I'm so confused. ;(

Bachalo's art...
.... simply sucks. X-Men are not japanese and they are not supposed to look like Manga.
I also think that the art in Wolverine v3 is crap at the moment. Logan looks like a ninja-turtle for Heaven's sake!

Bachalo's art... reloaded
And how come he was not so bad when he made the art for Uncanny??

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-17 05:44:15
Jake, you FIEND! Chris is artist (squadron) supreme!!!! Soi what if the man's style is new and different. If u're raggin' on chris, you're also callin' joe mad crap, too.

Posted by crow_1 on 2006-07-17 16:05:43
...
Did I say Bachalo HIMSELF was crap? I said the stuff he does now on XM is crap, and it is. XM is not manga. Period.

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-18 05:01:09
...
And I just forgot to say... It is nothing NEW, it is just different. Manga is really nothing new. People looking like kid's drawings from afar are nothing new.

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-18 05:02:24
ooo..low, low
Now that was below the belt. Just cuzz a guy likes to draw a different way than most creators doesn't mean you can just start crackin' on him fer bein' different. Everybody draws a different way, don't mock them because they're different.

Posted by crow_1 on 2006-07-18 10:19:38
oh boy
I am NOT mocking HIM. I am just expressing my legal opinion as a FAN. Let me repeat. X-Men are AMERICANS. They are not supposed to look like japanese. AND: it looks stupid when you have them drawn from a few meters away and they look thin and bad-drawn.
And anyways, Bachalo DID draw better earlier. But like I said, it is MY opinion. But that X-Men is not manga and that it is not SUPPOSED to be manga is just FACT.

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-18 16:01:04
...
And don't you "just because he is different" me. It has nothing to do with freedom of art or anything. Or being different.

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-18 16:02:37
and my opinion..
So what if they look japanese? thats MY opinion. I do agree his art was beter in the early '90's. Oh, and by the by, whats wrong with drawing like a child? haha

Posted by crow_1 on 2006-07-18 17:34:40
The guy also has artistc liscence, so give 'im some slack.

Posted by crow_1 on 2006-07-18 17:38:15
license??
Since when does an LICENSE make someone an artist? This is just metaphysics now, nothing against Bachalo.
But Mozart didn't need one.

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-19 11:04:11
and yeah...
I just read Uncanny 746...
Billy Tan and Ed Brubaker ROCK!

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-19 11:04:45
...
Is somebody crancked up in the head or what? How can a message about Bru and Tan being fabulous be offensive?? Or this little argue between my and crow_1? Get a life people.

Posted by Jake Chambers on 2006-07-20 07:36:41
haha
somw one flagged it as offensive? Thats extremely humorous, bot to be "offensive." teehee.

Posted by crow_1 on 2006-07-20 11:52:20
...
And I didn't offend you, you didn't offend me... I just mocked the art. So, please, Ms. Art, step out and tell us in the face how offended you are
