Hello again.

Distinction has been earned in this first round by SKleefeld, SlymCyke, and Mr. Black. For all who have put forth effort, I declare that the next chapter will release on schedule next week. We shall mark that success today with a bit of iconography that I hope you might spread around. The general public will little regard it, but it will let us recognize who is in our expanding network.

As you know, we are reviewing a past mission of a team that has some significance to The Atlas Foundation. In their new incarnation, a sixth member is joining James Woo's elite force. That announcement is to come in the next day or two at another location on the inter-net, one that purplerocket has observed me to frequent. The first correct guess as to the new member's identity will result in your addition to our roster of agents. I will not confirm your answer here until after the news is released, however. With this exercise I hope to recruit operatives with some psychic ability!

Again, good work. Of course, the level of difficulty here will be increasing, but I am sure you are up to the task. Your teamwork has been impressive so far. Such a good quality. If only the trust could last...

UPDATE.

So. The Sixth Agent of Atlas is the long missing Sea Monarch, Namora. Unfortunately none of you had the psychic ability required to discern same (nice try, Aarkus, but your “guess” is far too close to the post time of the Comic Book Resources article today!). Ah well. We are working on recruiting one whose mental power will be more than sufficient.

As you await next week’s document, you may still prove your resourcefulness. As a small show of Atlas power, I will begin to exert my will throughout the comics community of the Inter-Net. I shall influence a popular Timely (again, I do not acknowledge the recent name) artist to draw something related to us. I may also make some suggestions to keep in mind during our summer mission. Should you recognize my hand at work in your web travels, return and direct the group to the sources. You will gain notoriety. Bring along any other possible worthy agents-in-training to The Temple, but no spies!

We shall meet again soon.
Ohhh.... Psychic Ability...
If it we're me, I'd go up against guys like the Yellow Claw with the Professor X of his day: The Ancient One!

THAT would be a cool story!

rick jones
well, since, the character with the glowing wrist bands seems alot like rick jones, it might be him, although this story seems to take place before his character was introduced.

How about...
Kent Blake from the Secret Service

Newest Member
How about a young mar-vell

Posted by wholfblitz on 2006-06-16 13:18:29
Psychic abilities, you say?
Well, if we're talking psychics, I'm going to suggest the sixth member is Merzah the Mystic from Mystic Comics #4.

Posted by SKleefeld on 2006-06-16 14:25:19
Hopefully I can guess twice; I was rereading the CBR article and they referred to the mysterious 6th member with a male pronoun... so I'm going to suggest Lo-Zar! Or how about Rex Lane?

Posted by SaturnGirl on 2006-06-16 14:38:36
Triathalon, since he is technically the modern day 3D Man.

Posted by SlymCyke on 2006-06-16 17:08:23
Glowing Bands
How about Marvel Boy?

Agent Saturn reporting in...
I have a feeling that our good friend Mr. Lao has influenced Mike Weiringo to draw an Agents of Atlas character... as seen here: http://www.mikewieringo.com/html/Blog.htm

Posted by SaturnGirl on 2006-06-19 22:10:15
I think you're right!
Agent Saturn is right on the money! Goood catch!

Posted by kuyu001 on 2006-06-20 13:05:27
...The trail will loop back as it progresses.
O.K...I'll bite.
What the heck does THAT mean?

And if we are looking for old characters to pop up, how 'bout the current whereabouts of Sun Girl, Golden Girl, and the Human Top?
Afterall, Bucky Barnes is running around in Captain America's book right now!

Agent Marvellad reporting in. Although it may be to late to report this but check this out
http://www.comicbloc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29196

He even explains that he doesn't know why he drew it, that he just felt a "drive" to draw it. could that "drive" have been Mr. Lao? I think so...

Posted by marvellad on 2006-06-20 15:03:06
Off topic...
KRB NRG:

The whereabouts of Golden Girl and the Human Top were confirmed awhile ago. They joined the V-Battalion after the war. Gwenny Lou's daughter and granddaughter went on to carry her tradition of superheroics. David's son and grandson did the same, although his powers skipped a generation, his son used mechanical means to achieve superspeed and later retired and acts as an engineer and is part of the Penance Council for the V-Battalion.

For more on them, you can do a quick search through some of Fabian Nicieza's original Thunderbolts run, and they also appeared in both Citizen V mini-series.

Long live Namorita
How about you change her name to Namorita and make all her fans happy? Is Namora in present day Marvel of flashbacks?
