Ninjas?
gahh! Ninjas again? Are these faders or smokers?
Can we at least see some pirates? or zombies? or zombie pirate ninjas with robotic parts?
Enjoyed BND 1. See you in 7!

Brevoort?
I think Tom is making a deal with Mephisto to write that photo out of continuity right now.

Far be it from me to be a cynic...
But since you have set Spider-Man back to 1971, why aren't the comics a quarter again?
Also, since Marvel has pissed all over the great J. M. DeMatties/Sal Buscema "The Child Within" 7 part story arc where Harry died, and since that great story has yet to be collected, how about a little compensation by getting that collection out ASAP to PROVE that you're not disrespecting with this BND silliness.
On a final note, I just returned from my local comic shop, and like the retard that I am (and the retard that Marvel treats me like) I picked up issue 546, and voiced my displeasure. I was told in no uncertain terms that my shop has never seen such a negative reaction to anything like they have seen for this. True story.
Steve, you really seem like a nice guy and I'm sorry that such a great opportunity like working on Spider-Man has to be crushed by negativity. It's not your fault. I predict massive failure because of the lack of a stable writer/artist tandem, the bombarding schedule shoving these books down everybody's throat on a weekly basis (almost), and because of the direction.

5 reasons NOT to buy Brand New Day
5. They p*ssed all over the last 20 years of issues.
4. Nothing looks the least bit interesting.
3. They p*ssed all over the last 20 years of issues.
2. Peter's been made a lonely, single loser who lives with his aunt because that what Marvel thinks all nerds will relate to.
1. They p*ssed all over the last 20 years of issues.
This feels like exactly what it is: Marvel giving fans the finger and then saying "But we need you to like us again! Come on, just buy it for a little while!"

NOPE
This Inter-Folk votes no. I cancelled Spider-Man at my LCS but agreed to buy other titles including some from Marvel, since a large percent of his Spidey buyers are dropping or already have dropped it and would want to screw them over. And hey I'll give ya 5 reasons NOT to ...Jackpot, webshooter, living with aunt may, continuity in the toilet and deals with devil to get here.

5 More Reasons Not To Buy BND
5.) Because buying BND will tell Marvel that you're willing to accept lazy, horrifically written stories all for the sake of magical retcons to decades of great stories that came before.
4.) "There's going to be some geeks out there who try to fit all this into a particular time bubble and piece together what happened. They can waste their time doing that, but I say just read these books and enjoy them." (Bob Gale explaining BND's plot holes)
3.) "The first page is a real shocker and it's done on purpose. It's a bit of a slap of reality to longtime readers." (Joe Quesada, NY Post Interview)
2.) "It's magic. We don't have to explain it." (JMS on Marvel's Brand New Attitude)
1.) Marvel's greatest romance kicked to the curb like so much trash - all because Quesada was jealous of Mary Jane.

BND
I'm an old guy, been reading comics since I was 10 years old and back then they were just 10 cents and super annuals were 25 cents. In the last few years I have watched characters that have been matured and grown be ground back to the dust they came from. I have eatched in Action Comics Clark Kent become the nerd he was in the 1960s, I have watched Hulk grow and become a truly powerful character only to see the ultimate story line end with a whimper and everyone around go...Hey what happened?
I have been a great fan of Amazing Spider-man for decades, and I have been an even great fan of Strazinsky's and his ideas with the legend of the spider. I was sorry to hear he was leaving the book, he did bring a sense of Peter's Adulthood to a pinicle after all how long can a man stay a boy.
I must say this OMD story line was so predictable it put to shame the great work that came before. What saddens me is that Strazinsky was actually a part of it. I am tired of the editors of comics no longer adhering to the continuity of their Universes. In the end it was the continuity that allowed the plausible deniablity of all characters. Peter has seen Aunt May die before and lived through it, in reality the love of a woman and the life that one has with that partner is to be treasured not used as a cheap bargining chip. Is that not what Peter did? THat act alone degraded the character that for the last months since Civil War had shown what great ethics he had and what he believed in.
So I must ask is it worth the few exta bucks you guys are going to collect because now you have two Ultimate Spider-man books?
As a kid I would get my new books each month and I would always ready Superman first and then Spider-man. Or some months the other way around, this was a ritual I held to, to this day, well no more. I can write this essay and express my disappointment, but I think the only thing that Marvel and Joe Quesda believes in is the mighty dollar, so I will keep my 3.99 and my future 2.99 fortwo reasons, one becuase I think what you have done to a great character is deplorable and second, because Wacker's response to the negative responses to the entire mess was "Geee, I didn't write that I have nothing to do with it". All the more reason I would pass on a book written by a writer that didn't believe in his own character.

How Many Reasons to NOT Read BND?
There are a lot more than 5, that's for sure, and it's actually very sad that those 5 reasons are the best Steve Wacker could come up with. That is some serious reaching, and I think he has to know it, but he's trying to do the best he can with the crap he's been dealt. Just imagine those 5 reasons are a hand of poker. By my count, he's bluffing with an ace of clubs, a pair of 4's (hearts and clubs), a 6 of spades, and a 2 of diamonds. That's a lousy hand to be playing with if we were talking about a 3rd tier series, so there's no way in hell that cuts it for a flagship series featuring the company's #1 character.
How fast will somebody at Marvel (or one of their butt kissing readers who's goal in life is to make online brownie points) use the sales = quality comment. Better use it ASAP before these sales drop hard FAST!
Posted by Dusty. on 2008-01-09 20:52:30
Can't wait!
And man, i'm about over the anti-OMD comments. I can't say I'm happy at the Mephisto bit, but stories that we don't like are going to happen. It wasn't this creative team, and it wasn't this editorial team, so it's kind of pointless to try and bring them down. I for one am excited to read a Spider-Man whose stories are created by this group of fella's. But y'all can keep beatin' that OMD horse dead if ya' like.

still 5 more reasons to skip BND
5) New characters. None of these people look the least bit interesting. I was hoping Peter would outgrow needing to be employed by JJJ as a photographer. Now we're going to get a rival editor. Oh joy, oh rapture.
4) Politics. I know this is an election year, but most of us like to read comics in order to ESCAPE all the BS pols throw at us. Now we're gonna have to read it here? Thanks.
3) Admitedly, since this is a comic, there has to be some acceptance of "how could he/they do that?" With this, you have to keep asking, "how is this even possible?" The "magic" answer only works for those who still believe in Santa Claus.
2) Making MJ a superhero. Sorry, I don't care what kind of deal she made with Mephisto. This is a terrible idea. What's next...Betty Brandt as "Adminatrix"? How about Aunt May as "Octagenarian"? C'mon.
1) Joe Q is still EIC. 'Nuff Said.

My Surprise at the Comic Shop
Yesterday, I went to go pick up the comics that I have been waiting for, when I entered the shop and looked at all the new releases I was taken back by the stack of ASM books that seemed untouched. But I must say that this was not unexpected. Fans of Marvel warned them that they would not buy ASM because of what happend. If this continues, our favorite wall-crawling friend may see his worst year ever in sales.

One More…What Did MJ Say?
By Brendan Boyle - brendan2@coliseumofcomics.com
So it’s done. The genie is back in the toothpaste tube. High-fives all around. The end justifies the mean guys that did this. What a great story with really nice pictures it turned out to be. Which begs the question from the fleeing masses, "Why did it have to happen in a Spider-man book?"
In case you didn’t get the extended explanation of this short 4-part story that was addressed everywhere but between the pages of One More Day, what happened was this: Aunt May gets shot, Peter can’t save her, he feels guilty, JMS and Joe Q squabble, Mary Jane makes a deal with the ALL POWERFUL Mephisto and everyone forgets. And while they forget, magic makes all the Shield Files, Daily Bugle articles and marriage certificates disappear as well as completely healing Aunt May and bringing Harry Osborn back from the dead. All this by pulling a Spider-Man thread in the time stream of life. If you need further explanation, go back and reference the magic part and apply liberally. That, in modern terms, is what is known as reading between the panels.
Okay, so it’s done. Time to move forward—or backward as it may seem. Joe Q and company did not want Peter married anymore, or divorced, and they didn’t want to kill off Mary Jane. So it seems MJ has far more pull with the bullpen than poor Gwen ever had. And at least MJ doesn’t have kids somewhere that no one remembers, oh wait, she does have that one that disappeared some time ago and not necessarily the creepy little red-haired girl that showed up in OMD. And the Gwen’s kids thing, yeah, JMS also would like to distance himself from that small whoops as he claims, and I paraphrase, “That was all Joe!” No JMS, you created them, Joe just fathered them.
But I lose myself. To help these guys out a bit, mayhap we all just elect to go along for the little ride. I read the Amazing and Peter Parker Spectacular way back in the late seventies, way back when MJ was turning down Peter the first time around and when Gwen clones were still running about like catalysts to the Marvel Zombies storyline. And the most interesting feature of Peter in those days and the days that followed, was that he was always a three steps forward, two steps back kind of guy, but still going forward. Now he’s taken the 75 steps back and has to again plod forward.
So how big of a leap did they take on this? Rest assured, the leap is not so big. Harry is alive but Gwen is still dead. In Gwen’s place they put in some new blonde named Carlie and they can keep her around until all these things that no one remembers find their way back into the world of the Brand New Day Spider-man—and then they’ll probably throw her off a bridge too. As for MJ, she shows up in the final pages to show “something” happened between her and Peter that now they are on the outs. Perhaps it was that she made deals with the devil? Or maybe it has to with what she said in the deal they made?
Yes, something was said in the very fine print—as with all good contracts—and 2 high powered magnifying glasses from the dollar store later, we have deciphered what she said. The first line of the fateful panel that includes all their outs that they will or will not use, depending on the flexibility of their all accepting and loyal reader base, was deliberately garbled. So she could have said, “I, Mary Jane, being of sound mind and body will…” or “Wouldn’t it be funny if everyone but JMS and Joe Q…”, but we don’t really know what the garbled words were and they aren’t really telling. But we have deciphered the end bit of script that is all her own, and that’s why we’ll keep reading. Hidden in the fine print she clearly says: remember everything.
We’ll see how that goes.

I just read the first issue of "Brand New Day". I enjoyed the story quite a bit. Not to say I liked the way things went that led to this but it was enjoyable at least to me. For me it was nice to at least read about a happier Spider-man with that classic feel to it. So while there is a lot of people not reading it or just simply hating it, I like it and will continue to collect!

LOL Boy I cant wait, Spiderman is fighting Normal ninjas which he could all kill with a flick of his finger at a class 15 strength, oh sorry the took his powers back, 10 strength. WOW wolverine, will he know spiderman is his team might in new avengers??? This should be a good hit....lol Is he in there, no, that is a SKRULL I am sorry my bad.... Yeah for BND!!!!!!!! cant wait to see how much you guys can screw up SPIDERMAN this year.... Unbelievable......

What a crock!!!!
After what was pulled with the LAST storyline, I have decided that there is no lower life form on the face of the planet than Joe "big dummy" Quesada... I have never ever EVER been as infuriated over something as I was when I realized that you guys have, indeed, done away with the Spidey-MJ marriage. In response, I have decided to take a minimum year-long absence from anything new that Marvel puts out... no movies, comics, video games, posters, paperbacks... NOTHING that will bring profit to Marvel. In the meantime, I sincerely hope that Quesada either A: realizes he's a dummy and figures out a way to make this right (after all, Pete's in his 30's by now... and isn't the point of a character to progress? Instead, we have at least 20 more years of Aunt May getting sick or being victimized... like THAT hasn't been done before. I was looking forward to her finally dying) or B: is replaced by somebody who actually CARES what the fans think... and not someone who presumes to know. I realize that my year-long boycott won't affect their profit margin in the slightest, but I can't give my hard-earned money that I make by serving this country to a bunch of moronic jerks.
Justin Harn
that's right... I'm puting my name on this. I'm not afraid to let people know what I think... have a nice year, Marvel.

So are we just being treated like a bunch of tards here. I mean with everything thats happened through the years people peters come across, the "other story line" the unmasking, its just all been erased? What a lack of originality. Even wolverine who has his memory back has no recollection of pete?

Strike 1.
Unlike I did with the clone saga, I have not stopped reading. Mainly because the complaining (which is good) got them to change it back and in the process 1) make a series of stories I like and 2) now I am still filling holes from that period.
So my hope is that the new writers and creative minds will spend their time trying to make some cohesive explanation and get us back to a good Spider-man - and by back to I mean pre Mephisto deal, not pre marriage.
There are some stories I don't like (organic web-shooters and the stinger), but I accepted them because they were creatively done and showed a progression. If the powers that be really wanted to get back to Basics - have MJ get killed - the depression alone would have put him in a position to live with May again (if you had to keep her around). Still want slapstick Spidey - remember originally Spidey was a wisecracker because the mask allowed parker to be. The same could have worked in this manner to mask his depression.
Want Parkers Secret Identity a Secret again? Avengers Initiative was already on its way to doing that for you.
But enough about OMD.
BND - Strike 1. I buy all Spider comics, but some I don't read because the feel is forced and superficial - ala Marvel Age and Marvel Adventures Spider-man. That is what this comic felt like.
I also feel lost - what makes both the original continuity and Ultimate so fun were the differences. Now I don't have an original continuity. I have no understanding of the characters and I would need to read on to get there. But I have Ultimate for that.
This is just sad. I was looking forward to the creative team, ASM titles, and would have loved to see what it would have been like but for this current set up.

Spidey price hike
I haven't read the BND issues but I can't afford to triple the money that I spend on him every month, I really loved the series since getting my first issue a few years ago but three times a month justs costs too much for me.

bad, illconceived step. you will regret this
I am cancelling my subscription to spider man. i have been collecting comics for years and in the last 5 or so years I saw some amazing, challenging things. The Civil War story line, Peter Parker unmasked. everything seemed up in the air, anything could happen, there was a nightmarish feeling of tension and dread. Peter Parker being married gave him so much more to lose, so much more to fight for.
For months I wondered how are they going to get out of this with all the amazing stuff happening in the marvel universe. the most disgusting, repulsive devise in the history of entertainment is the what I call "it was all a dream, a snap of the fingers, wave a magic wand, bobby ewing waking up in the shower garbage." you had me buying everything for a few years, now you have cheated all of us out of the stories that we had invested time in. sure eventually you will change it when the sales figures drop, but by then you will have lost those fans. in this age of short attention spans, that's not something you can easily mend.
oh and lastly, who gives a %&*&^ about norman osbourne. that period isss so dead. it makes me yawn.
p.s. please no more ninjas. dear god. I love Bendis but if i see one more ninja. i didn't think ninja could be soo completely and utterly boring. God!

I lovED mavel... back then when it was amazing comics and fantastic stories, back in the day of "face it tiger you just hit the jackpot" days but it seems those days are LONG GONE!
Ninjas are not going to save this comic anymore NOT AFTER THE CHOICE YOU MADE OF THE LAST EPISODE!
Spiderman WAS my ultimate favorite marvel character and NOW THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY FROM ME! Soo freaking messed up. I dont know see why like other people are saying marvel couldnt just let MJ and Peter grow old what is the freaking deal here?
DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO MESS WITH HISTORY!??! Are YOU guys just trying to get readers mad!?! MARVEL cannot just take back all of MJ and Peters history I LOVE aunt may but maybe it was time for her to go AND the TRUE PETER PARKER WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH THE DEVIL!!

Off to a good start!
Just finished reading ASM # 546. I liked it. Slott's writing is nearly perfect in most cases. The humor's good, the pacing is crisp, and there are a LOT of subplots introduced here in the main story. I'm looking forward to seeing it all play out in the months ahead.
The Mr. Negative character is cool. Carlie is interesting. Jackpot intrigues me. Nice to see Betty and Robbie and JJJ, too. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Harry in this issue, despite my initial misgivings about him being brought back.
I also love that Slott used thought balloons throughout. Awesome! I hope the other writers follow his lead and do the same. It just adds another much-needed layer to the storytelling.
Last but not least, McNiven's art was refreshing: clean, uncluttered, easy to follow... classic yet modern at the same time.
All in all, I'm happy with the start of Brand New Day. There's a lot more here to like than to not like for those interested in giving it a chance. Definitely looking forward to next week!

I have always been a fan of Spiderman. By far my favorite super hero. I collect almost anything from him. Since I was 11 I started collecting Spiderman comics, I lost track then started get into the comics again when "The Other" started. Since then I been getting every spiderman comic coming out and where ever he's been involved, but now you go and ruin it.... You just lost another big Spiderman fan.... I won't get the new stuff till this fixed.. PLEASE FIX IT! I guess I'll stick with the Avengers comics....
PS: By the way, WHAT THE HELL IS GONNA HAPPEN WITH HIS STATUS ON THE NEW AVENGERS??????? God (sigh).......

I'm done.
I've been reading Spider Man comics (and other titles) for 26 of my 36 years on this Earth, with Spidy always being my favorite read of all.
While my hay day of comic collecting may have been in my college years, I still stop into my local store to pick up the Amazing title every month and a few others here and there.
Now, with the story line eliminating the marriage between Peter and Mary Jane, I'm DONE. I won't be buying, or reading, the Spidy saga any further than this. At least that way I can read my back issues and remember when the story was a good one, and the writers/editors had some sense of what they were supposed to be doing with these beloved characters.
Besides, I guess it was time to finally decide that it was time to hang up the comic book days. Maybe, in about another 7 years, when my oldest child is old enough to be interested in comics, there will be something out there worth getting him interested in. At this rate, I know it won't be Spider Man. And to think, even at 3 years old he was getting a bit fond of the web slinger himself.

p.s. please no more ninjas. dear god. I love Bendis but if i see one more ninja. i didn't think ninja could be soo completely and utterly boring. God!

Wow. I feel betrayed.
To Marvel.
I'm not here to curse you or wish bad things upon you folks. I just feel i need to say this....
I was born in 1987. I’ve been reading comic books for as long as i can remember.
and for all the pages i have turned, for all the cliff-hangers I’ve seen, for all the money I’ve earned to buy them, for all the times I’ve gone to different places just to find one particular spider-man comic (which has happen millions of times) I have never given up on that damn spider-man series.
for all the bad issues they've drawn.
for all the bad issues they've written.
for all the bad choices they've made.
I have never given up on the spider-man series.
even after the clone saga
even after the 2nd issue of civil war.
hell even after reading about Gwen Stacy.
i have never given up on the spider-man series.
i know there is a lot of good issues.
a lot of good drawings and storylines.
but like they say, "It only takes ONE"
unfortunately this ONE more day thing did.
after reading the final issue, i felt like i just watched my parents divorce.
for me and my generation, you always knew two things with spider-man first and foremost.
The greatest quote ever "With great power, comes great responsibility."
and that no matter how bad spider-man was beaten up, no matter how crappy the situation the editors decided to put him through.
He had Mary Jane! She was his rock. As he was to her.
Now i know it seems silly to argue for someone who ultimately doesn't exist. but its more than that. i suppose its a legacy.
I read that our current editor in chief said that its not as fun as having a married spider-man.
but isn’t that why spider-man is so appealing to the fans?
isn't that one of the reasons he is just so damn awesome?
because he can relate to the people
like as if he's just as real as the person who is reading about him.
who in one way or another wish to be him.
and for him to be married, that is something you come to at a certain point in your life.
Just the way spider-man did in his.
but i feel betrayed in a way.
for one reason is that they split up those two.
all the history they made.
Gone.
all the issues
Gone.
all the work by not only artists,
but by great writers alike.
gone.
all the great stories of how he saved her, and how she saved him.
Gone.
Now I'm all for reinvention. don't get me wrong.
it just seems that there just some things you just don't go and try to change.
Its just sad to have messed with something so good.
Sure its in the history of spider-man to have not the best of luck.
But to do something this staggering, was really something that should have been done.?
I mean how much thought was really put into this?
But I agree with these other bloggers that its just bad comic book making to have made this arc.
To go and alter marvel history was just a plain awful move.
I can't say as to wither or not i shall keep reading spider-man.
its not like I’m trying to stop Marvel from making money or anything like that.
Its just the sentimental value behind it.
It actually makes me so sad to have read these issues.
i wish i had not read those issues.
I know i would have to find out sooner or later.
But in all honesty i wish these pages didn't happen.
Just like how you folks at marvel fulfilled yours.
By making it not happen.
And I hope you bring it back.

Look at the bigger picture here
I'm surprised that with all the online flaming I've read regarding Brand New Day, nobody has looked at it from this standpoint:
The whole thing has so many holes in it the Swiss are jealous. It's crap. Everyone knows this. From the readers, to the guy at my local comic store who reads nothing but DC, right up to the bigwigs at Marvel.
Everyone knows its crap. Why has nobody stopped to think maybe this is intentional? That everything is so screwed up on purpose? That maybe, just maybe, Mephisto's deal wasn't everything he said it was (big freakin surprise there!), and that all is not as it appears to be?
There's MASSIVE potential here for a huge story, as Peter slowly discovers what has happened, and sets forth to put things right, perhaps with the aid of Jackpot, who if you haven't figured out her identity yet, there's something very very wrong.
If I'm right, Amazing Spider-Man is fixin' to be all sorts of, well, amazing!
If I'm wrong.....well.....keep me posted if anybody decides to form a mob outside the Marvel office with pitchforks and torches.
A better man than me hath said, Nuff Said.

*SLAP SLAP SLAP*
Okay, I bought and read BND #1. Here's my reaction and thoughts to OMD and BND:
1. OMD stunk for three reasons: the story, the price and the end result. The story was thin and drawn out - 4 issues could have been compacted into one.
2. From what the powers that be have said about BND, it seems that it is supposed to be a slap-in-the-face to Spider-Man fans.
3. BND#1 has Peter Parker coming off as a lazy slacker - in his 20s, unemployed, living off of his Aunt May. This seems to be the same "selfish" Peter Parker that was so determined to save his guilty conscience in OMD (as noted by his would-have-been daughter). "With great power comes...a lack of responsibilty" - Uncle Ben rolls over in his grave.
4. What is with the aquadot comments by this Wacker guy?
5. Is it me, or is there a general disdain for the readers by the powers that be at the helm of ASM?

My letter to Marvel
I wrote this to them, but figured I'd share it here.
Hi Fellas,
I just recently found out about the recent developments in Spider-Man. It was in a news article discussing how you had all been uncomfortable with the Peter/MJ marriage thing.
Uh, I hate to break it to you, but Deus ex Machina is NEVER a good storytelling device.
I know your stockholders probably wanted to make the books more like the movie and all that, but please remind them that your core readership are exactly that: READERS...and that regardless of what you change in the books, you won't necessarily bring flocks of moviegoers to suddenly read the comics. You certainly won't do it with such poor plot devices like this current Mephisto fiasco.
Didn't you learn anything from the Clone Saga?
Think about it for a minute...if Pete and MJ make a "deal with the devil" (which Mephisto is pretty much that type of character...a cosmic-powered entity that thrives on souls)...what does he care if Peter is married or not. It would have made MUCH more sense for him to offer to spare Aunt May in return for Peter's soul or submission to his will or something like that. Erasing a marraige? Did you guys draw Mephisto with Joe Quesada's face on him for that scene?
C'mon guys...you CAN do better than this. Don't fall into lazy writing for the sake of expediency. If you MUST get rid of the marriage, there are FAR more realistic ways you can do it that will continue to EVOLVE the character instead of just popping him back to square one over and over again.
Regards,
Sage

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!
im tired of you dolts not doing your research. the Brand New Day universe Peter and MJ still have a possibility of marriage. the deal with Mephisto was that they will never have their daughter may. if anything it means they will get remarried again down the road. somethings have changed but not that drasticly. nuff' said

Lighten up, people
Seriously, you guys are way too worked up. It's great that you're invested in these characters and all, but enough with the MELODRAMA. "You've raped my childhood!" "You ruined my Christmas!" "You took away the closest thing I'll ever have to a marriage!" (All are real online comments on various boards.) You think Pete's acting like a loser in BND? He's got nothin' on some of you guys. Either read BND or don't, but this is just ... well, it's sad.

I have ASM 252 to the present. I never thought I would cancel. It was a part of my life.

!!NO BRAINER!!
Forget the magical logistics; forget laziness. What I'm talking about is COMMON SENSE. Even without the experience of a super hero and Avenger, this advice goes out to everyone.... WHEN MEPHISTO EL DIABLO wants to make a deal, you say, " No thanks ol' buddy "; then you call up His Highness the Sorcerer Supreme, Senor Radd, Brother Thor, and of course Cap (to keep everyone on task) and see if you can't work anything out with getting this psycho soul sucker off your back. And even if young Parker has always been a little...hmm... spaz-attack (is that a word?), Does anyone really believe that the divine Mary Jane Parker would even exchange the same air as that vile and base defiler Mephisto?
P.S. Mad Props to his Supreme Highness, our Protector, Dr. Strange, Sorcerer Supreme.
P.P.S. The Mephisto entry at the end of the 3rd issue was pretty cool and wicked comprehensive. And again, All Hail our Eternal Defender, The Sorcerer Supreme.

I thought Marvel woul have learned after Cap
To Marvel
This has to be one of the worst ending to a spider-man comic ever,
Beside the fact that the art work and story line is terriable how could you make the choice betwwen MJ and Aunt May why would you keep a decreped old women versus him evolving in the story line after all this time.
Life goes on we lose loved ones.
well i guess i will have to find three new DC comics to purchase

Thanks Joe
I'm 29 years old, I've been collection comics since I was 12. OH yeah, and Spider-man has been my favorite hero since I've been 4.
Thanks for telling me everything I've read in the past 17years has just been erased.
I never thought I'd see the day where I wished for the Clone Saga.

Joe Quesada needs to STOP!
Seriously this is really, really bad. This is a big F- You to all the fans that have and still continue their support for Marvel and Spider-man. I bought Brand New Day and now I wish I hadn't, I won't buy any more Spider-Man. This makes absolutely NO SENSE in terms of story, continuity, and Spidey's relationship to the Marvel Universe. Is he not even on the New Avenger's anymore?
Mephisto??? Seriously??? This is super LAZY and TERRIBLE, I hope Brand New Day Sells HORRIBLY!

Fayt Leingod
Joe Quesada isa complete and utter fool. The fact that he had the audacity to infer that his lazy, stupid, ill-conceived and utterly disrespectful revamp will benefit Spider-Man in the long run shows how low his opinion of your readership is. This is nothing more than another way of forcing your his agenda on us as readers and destroy a marriage he personally never approved of. You don't evolve a character by conveniently erasing facts about him/her you don't like. You work with the history and use it to implement change positively.
I want Quesada's head on a sharp stick for this stupidity. I hope sales tank on a global scale. Maybe then someone in the driver's seat will finally get the hint and fire him

My only complaint... that it's only coming out three times a month instead of four.

I hope Marvel doesn't expect people to buy 3 issues per month of Brand New Day, cause I'm certainly gonna buy it....the first issue
was garbadge. There's no point to reading older issues because they now mean nothing.

I am So happy,
That finally as a group and a community that we are not falling for their *&&^% anymore.
Often in the past too many of us were willing to accept and even defend the "powers that be" simply based on their say so.
Now it seems, we have finally had enough.
No, I will NOT give BND a try.
Not after such terrible decision making.
And the way they are trying to bring us back shows that they still have no clue as to what's been wrong. They still don't know how to treat SM the way he deserves to be treated.
Ninjas? (as another poster stated) enemys that SM could kill with a flick of his finger? FYI, Spider-man lifts TEN TONS, (or is it still 15?). He is WAY beyond "human" level strength. The way to maximize a character is NOT by pitting him against much weaker foes. Particularly when they are so cliche.
WOlverine? a so now Spider-man needs WOLVERINE to sell his books. I wonder if they are going to continue the Wolverine as the all knowing and experienced pro to the NOOB, childish, punk SPider-man relationship of the past decade.
I could go on ,...but I just want to say that I join Justin Harn in his boycott.
No more new comics from Marvel from me.
As far as the movies, any hint of a substantial deviation and I will not see the movie. (I will if they stay faithfull only to encourage such practice).

We all love Spidey before OMD right? I admit that Marvel quite make a mistake by rebooting the story again, but what if that this is temporary? They said BND is just a something arc that comes out this first four month right? What will happened at the fifth month? As far as I can see, I only found the teaser image of ASM for the first 4 month, why there are no fifth? Now answer it yourself.

Ways that this could turn out cool.
I read OMD and was close to tears. Not joy, but mourning the loss of spidey as we know it. (Doesn't that kinda kill spider-girl?)
I'm a part time editor (films) I'm also a writer. I will forever adore marvel for what it has done and will do. But taking it from either perspectives, makes it seem a bit shoddy. (Editing standpoint.) I think the feel of the book for I'd say 2 1/2 issues felt like they were heading in a diffrent direction than what happened. As soon as MJ stepped in, I'd say that's the downhill point. It just didn't seem to flow. Which is important to making any good story. Also from a writing standpoint, it's terrible. Magic is terrible, I know you guys have heard that time and again, but it's true. Also, it taught nothing about loss. What Aunt May's death was supposed to teach us and spidey is that we can't cling on forever. It was brilliant these last few months. I loved spidey unmasking, I love his civil war arc, I went back and even bought "The Other". (A series I missed, but still adored. Why'd you kick the shooters?)
Anyways, why I posted.
(Beside to express my explicit opinion.)
Reasons how this could turn out cool.
1. Peter remembers everything other than the marriage. (Did he forget he unmasked? It sure seems like he forgot everything, which is silly.) He should remember that he saved his aunt. That he paid some great price, but can't remember.
2. We see characters from the now "forgotten years" show up and talk to peter. (Spirit of Ezekial, Morlun again, That spider thing from the other, etc.)
3. He hooks up with Black Cat. (That'd be funny.) I"m guessing Mephisto is gonna throw Peter some curve balls to keep MJ away. But seriously, black cat, do it now.
4. It goes into more introspective about his soul that remembers. Dreams about it or what not, is tortured like the devil said, bring it into the story.
5. Wolverine should recognize him. OR SOMETHING! Make some character remember him. Remember that he unmasked, and then questionthat!
6. The best thing ever, Aunt May dies of a heart attack. Now THAT would be a kick in the pants. Thinking he finally saves her, and she keels over. Or maybe she gets shot again, but not peter's fault atall.
Oh, and one more thing.
Quit using wolverine so much! Whenever a series starts to tank, you throw wolverine in and readers eat it up! I think they are starting to catch on though.
And less ninjas, more story. (Pirates ftw.)
Ciao for now

Mad as Hell
Read the new Spiderman comic and hated it! Its like this Parker U. and it has nothing to do with the Marvel U. Kinda like House of M only this is real. Didn't like anything about the comic, and please tell me that is not Mary Jane with powers saying tiger all the time. So explain why is Parker fired from the Bugle? This has screwed up everything in the the Marvel U. no dead Harry, nothing happened in C.W., Spiderman isn't in the Avengers, Secret Invasion doesn't happen for Spiderman, and all the great stories by great writers like J. Michael Straczynski never happen, that really suck! Just kill of Spiderman would of been better! Maybe Joe can get what J.J. Jamerson got on the last page of the book. Very bad idea like killing Captain America and bringing another replacement, why not just get US Agent to be Cap again. Really thought you were better than DC in not screwing things up! Was a fan, now not so sure, lets see what else you screw-up this year!!

Brand New/Same Old Crap
Well,I'm glad to see that I am not the only one fed up with marvel's
crap.I have been a reader of comics for 25+ years.Marvel has went
downhill in a major way over the last few years."One More Screwjob"
and "Brand New Crap" have taken the prize though.I fully intend to be
a major thorn in the side of the idiot in chief of the bullpen of
bullcrap in the house of ignorance for some time now.
Do not buy into the magic of this storyline. There is NO WAY that this
can work.Quesada created an alternate reality and that's all I'll
recognize it as being in it's existence.I have done thorough research
on Spiderman's history and there is no way that this can and will
work. What we are dealing with is the idiot in chief is a nerdy fanboy
who has had it in for the marriage for years now and has now made
himself probably the most hated man in comics.I have come to the
conclusion that he has wet dreams of May Parker and probably has a
poster of her in a g string over his bed to get his jollies.
He wants to bring us back to the silver age.Do not let him convince
you of anything otherwise.399 cents on the covers???Get a life Joe.We
was past that back in the 70s.This direction and storyline has already
caused friction between he and JMS and others.I personally hope
Quesada loses his job by the time this is all over and done.He is a
disgrace to the comic industry. His reasoning and attitude sucks. If you
reread Mephisto's dialogue in the One More Day crap, you will see
Quesada's attitude come out very prominently.
I find it very sad that a fan serving our country(Thank You) has to
say that he is not going to continue spending his hard earned money in
doing so because of this garbage. If it's any consolation my friend,I
fully intend to gather as many people as I can to protest this
myself. My friends and I are not like so many fickle people that say
they are finished with a book and 6 months later are collecting it
again. When we say we are done with a book, that is it,end of story.I
also fully intend to be a constant pain to Quesada and some other
writers everytime I feel they mess up.The staff at Marvel needs to
remember a constant fact... that we the readers are the boss, not
themselves. They print what we allow and nothing more.Isnt it time that
we as readers and fans say "enough is enough"?
Fans sure a alot to "look forward to" in Brand New Day.They get to see
a Goblin ripoff character named Menace. The debut of some heroine
called "Jacka$$".Also a teamup between Spiderman and "Thor Frog"(get a
life guys).Do these people actually even think before they write
sotries nowadays???I actually have a good storyline that should be
printed..."What if Marvel actually had an editor in chief?" I also
have a great riddle for fellow fans.... "What's going on in
Spiderman?" The answer.... Who Cares. Also,a forewarning.... this
skrull invasion storyline coming up is going to be a major
retcon/renig on the civil war storyline that we wasted our money on.
I finally want to say that if this Brand New Day crap sells to amount
to anything,Quesada will take credit for it because he's too stupid to
realize that it is mainly people curious only in seeing what he
screwed up.If it flops,he'll place the blame on others and blame
JMS.He's just that ignorant.
If you want to be a part of a comic group where they speak candidly
and straight up about comics and share the same hatred of this
crap,join....

More Ninjas? God as if they don't already have enough reasons for me to stay as far away from this as possible.
I almost gave up on New Avengers because of the boring, stupid, annoying, waste of space, generic, ... ninjas. There is nothing good left about multiple ninjas. the only way ninjas are even remotely interesting is if there's only one, who's preferably NOT wearing a ninja costume.

Spiderman Fiasco
You guys at Marvel have really SCREWED UP doing what you did with BND. My First Issue of Amazing Spiderman was issue 135 as a jumping on Point. I have from Issue 4 current. But what you guys did with Mephisto and wiping out the past was downright ludicris. Why not let Aunt May stay in a coma, have Mary Jane pregnant and May wake up in time for the birth of a daughter. Guess that will never happen.
Here i thought the clone story line was a mess way back then in the 90's. You guys have a MAJOR MESS to correct. Maybe you can have Peter wake up in the hospital in Mays room and have it all become a bad dream. You guys did not screw up the death of Uncle Ben, that was done rather quickly and neatly. Where are Stan the Man and Steve Ditko when you need them most.
Perhaps you should give Spiderman back to Stan Lee the creator of the book, it is his character and several others that made MARVEL what it is to day. I will hang on a few more issues and will probably cancel my subscription at my Local Comic Store. I will just read the back issues i have for entertainment. Fly the flag R.I.P. Spiderman 1963-2008. You killed a Major Icon in the Marvel Universe!!

BND
Sir:
Mildly enjoying this campy 'What If?' scenario, complete with outdated storytelling style, i.e., thought balloons with overwrought internal monologue, melodramatic third-person narration, and the over-excited 'please love me' screed in the editor's column. More text for your money and it's a great parody of the undisciplined scripting that happily went out in the '80s. I'm sure many are really looking forward to the return of all that groovily awkward '70s slang.
That said, I had this strange sinking feeling in my stomach when I read it, kind of like if I'd woke up one day back in high school, and all that I'd worked for and struggled for in the past twenty years had been undone somehow, but I still remembered it. Like I'd been knocked down a mountain I'd spent years trying to climb, and now they tell me I have to do it all again from the beginning. 'Discouraging', that's the word. I probably won't buy any more of this story arc, I buy comics for good story, good art and good honest escapism, not for a discouraging meditation on the futility of existence. Well, unless you have Black Cat. She's hot.
So anyway, it was an interesting distraction, but I'm happy to get back to the real story. Can't wait for Spider-Girl #16!

Why?
Seriously, after the stunt that was pulled with One More Day, I don't trust that these issues, and Brand New Day as a whole, are going to remain in continuity. I've been burned once, and I've learned not to put my hands in the fire again.

Overreacting
"Man is not disturbed by things, but how he perceives them."
When I first read the last issue of OMD, I felt betrayed. I felt angry. I got so sick that I couldn't talk for a week that very day, and I blamed Joe Quesada and Marvel for me becoming ill. Thinking about it now, I think I lost my voice until I took the above saying to heart.
How many people flaming BND haven't read it yet? How many people flaming it haven't read the numerous interviews and thoughts of the different creators and editors in support of OMD? Believe it or not, their arguments of why BND is a good thing (the thing about the Ninjas and Wolverine not included) is a lot more convincing than everyone's reasons on why we should curse the Marvel office, hate Spider-Man forever, and continue to post stupid rant after stupid rant on why we hate OMD so much. It's over. It's done. There is nothing you can do about it. And the results are actually good. BND was a good comic. And if they can get you to come back for one more week, that's all they need. And I will gladly give them that shot.
Cap's death, Avengers Disassembled, M-Day, Civil War, the entire Ultimate Universe, all of that. We all thought that they were going to ruin everything. And all of that has proved to be for the most part positive. I fail to see how OMD is any exception to that. Marvel hasn't let me down yet, and I don't think they are going to start now.
Posted by 616 Spider-Man on 2008-01-14 00:28:04
You've finally done it....
OK. I'm a long time Spidey fan. I love the character. I've been buying all Spidey comics for around 15 years now. I've picked up a lot of back issues. I loved the Clone Saga. I loved the Civil War, particularly the unmasking. I thought Gwen's kids was a bit dodgy but OK. I could deal with it. Without wanting to be melodramitic, I even like the Star Wars Prequels.
But this is it. The moment when Spider-man finally jumped the shark. And as we all know, Spidey can jump a long way.
The character is better than anybody at Marvel. I didn't stop buying after the reboot (post Gathering of Five) even though it was rubbish. If I don't stop buying now (and I'm undecided) I probably never will. I was finally rewarded after the reboot by Straczynski. I guess I can live in hope something similar will happen soon.
Posted by Webs1000 on 2008-01-14 07:42:42
If this is the best they got...
Then there gonna need alot better. Seriously to make me happy with this horrendous, continuity ruining retcon it would take alot. Perhaps maybe a few TPB's of a great Black Cat solo comic drawn by the great frank Cho? If you guys did that for me then maybe I'd buy brand new day out of commitment.
But I am easy to please because my favorite heros rarely get solo comics. I won't buy this BND as it stands now, And it's a shame cause Mcnievan rocks. And I do love bendis. Love ya'lls work on newavengers guys. wish you'd fire Yu.
Aaaaaanyway BND, not for me. And it looks like I'm with the majority .

you have no right to use the infamous words of Stan Lee. you foul his legacy with your sacrilege. if you bash without thinking or research then you disgrace yourself and more importantly Stan Lee. nuff said

great, you screwed the comic medium
what the heck marvel?
this is the most retarded cheap thing ever. i thought it was lame doing things like bringing back bucky and killing cap but congrats, you've taken it to a whole new crap level called "editor in chief getting bored"

Oh Boy..
I have no problem with ANYTHING that is done in comics, well. After the Civil War (with the endless tie-ins) and the numerous Spider-man fillers (6 issues of Aunt May dying) to OMD, my problem isn't with what they've done it's with how they did it. Dragging out a story for months, to wrap it up in 2 issues. And horribly.
My problem isn't with the result, personally I prefer a single Peter Parker, and how everything was, but after I just sat for a almost 2 years forking over money and reading Spider-man's students knowing his identity, him going after Kingpin, etc. to just take it all away (and more) with 2 panels, makes me sick.
It's such sad writing, marketing, and pacing. It shows a bad past, and I can't invest anymore into these characters, and maybe any other title under Marvel. I don't mean the money, I don't care about the money, but the TIME is what I'll never get back. And that's what JQ is, a waste of time. I'd stick with other books, but it's obvious it's not the writer, but the EIC, and I'm just waiting for them to ruin Iron Man. It's bad enough they DESTROYED the Ultimates, but now Spidey?

Comment from 40+ year collector of SM
I feel I have to chip in my 2 cents worth regarding Brand New Day having been a long time Marvel collector of Spdier man (among many other titles)
I like the art work of Bradn New Day. That was it. Two shops, one in Houston, and one that I visited in Austin when taking my daughter back to UT have both reported big hits of long term subscribers of Spiderman who have followed through with their cancellation threats if Marvel did what everyone assumed they were posturing to do. Reverse years worth of great (and some not so great).
IMO Marvel did about the worst possible thing in an attempt to attract new readers. Make a deal with the devil and choose Aunt May over your wife? ? Cmon. That is so lame and is not even worth of discussion and is so wrong on so many levels.
Marvel a has already retro-ed Spider man for new readers/movie watchers/kids with Ultimate Spideman which I thoroughly have enjoyed for the first 70-80 issues for new readers
I bought the 546 issue in Austin, read and basically, it is HUH SO what? Tha artwork, especially of Mr Negative, was very good, But ths story line was,
Whatver marvel was attempting to do again dpe not work adn I suspect Marvle is going to take a huge hit on Spiderman readers, especially the long term readers, Im in the minority inthat money is no big deal. I read the comics in that Ienjoy the artwork and story line. Im not emphatic as many of the "I QUIT SM Readers? but I can understand their anger and frustration with Joe Q .
It was a dumb idea to unmask Spiderman (The person who decided that cant understand the characters motivations). With great Power comes Responsibility (to his family and Peter Parker would not jeapardize his aunt and wife's lives by revealing his secret identiy. That is SO obvious).
I returned to reading SM BECAUSE of the CLONE SAGA. The way this is being done reminds me of how Marvel wussed out on the Scarlet Spider Character and screwed up the entier story so that I had to reread it numerous times to understand what had happened after it was all over. I suspect Marvel has painted itself into a corner with this decision and unfortuatley thsi decision will significantly adversely effect Marvel's bottom profit line (and Editors job) so I certainly would not be a buyer of Marvel stock at this time.
I do like going to one "Amazing SM" book for continuity but how Marvel did it does nto make sense adn is lazy storytelling. Unlike many I will probably read this months and maybe next months issues but I personally do not find the direction Marvel has elected to go with Spiderman appealing and make me eager to read the next issues. The Goblin knock off coming and Jackpot ? character
dotn pique my curisoty too much to get me excited about the new direction. But who knows? Nuff said. I've had more that my 2 cents worths
Artwork....very good. Storyline...yawn

You are kidding right?
These the the five great reasons to read Brand New Day...Even if I were a new person trying to decide if I should purchase this "Brand New" Spider-man without having any prior knowledge of what happened the previous storyline (or previous 20+ years), I'd take a look at this pathetic blog and say "Wow, @&*man is so much cooler than Spider-man. Like, do I really want to read about Politics? And really, where is that Red Head he is with in the movie?" Seriously Marvel, why not just not mention anything about Spider-man for the next 3 months, quietly finish out your terrible Brand New Day (I did read the first issue....terrible is giving you credit) storyline, and then return everything to pretty much normal (keep the 1 or 2 ideas that didn't TOTALLY ****@$$) and we will all pretend this didn't even happen (or we will make a deal with Mephisto, either way, It's Magic)!

No Respect
Marvel could gives a rat's ass about what the fans want. It's all what they want, and if that means getting rid of 20 years of history to make another "Marvel Age" Spider-Man then so be it. They should have just left Amazing with the great feel it had, and created a new title for this "Brand New Day". I mean come one, how long before they decide to relaunch Web or Spectacular again? I enjoyed the Clone Saga, but this is just horrible. And that un itself is saying a lot. They finally had a title with so much potential but then just tossed it out the window.

When did Marvel stop caring about quality?
I have been reading Marvel forever and I have noticed the past two years especially that the big stories Marvel puts out end in duds. It happened with Civil War. It happened with World War Hulk and now OMD. It even is happening in non event books like Loners. I seriously think Marvel needs better quality control and needs to ensure the whole story is great. As a reader I end up putting down money for most of a story arc and then the final issue it is like thud. Totally bad, and doesn't represent the rest of the story well. Marvel as a company should have been embarrassed to put out that final issue of OMD like it came out. And both you and Joe have been working long enough in comics to recognize when a comic is bad. To be honest it rank of DC's Amazon Attacks. The first three parts of OMD were enjoyable. The last part seemed like a bunch of stuff shoved together. Customers will only put up with that for so long. I view that as a total lack of respect to the people that buy Marvel's product. Honestly, how can you expect people to even want to try out the new stories of a new status quo when the final part of the story of the old status quo was awful.

Marvel Screw Up
The subject says it all. I for one am calling for the head of Joe Quesada on a Silver Platter!!! FIRE HIM. Bring someone elses aboard who understands how the Fans feel and know what they want, Not what Marvel Wants. If it were not for Spiderman I may have been a quitter, but i am a fighter, a Stubborn Son of a Bitch. I fought back from Deaths door 3 times in 4 years. I live by the words of that famous quote penned so many years ago. That with great powers comes Great Responsibility. Until Joe Quesada is Terminated I will not read another Amazing Spiderman. Hopefully you will not Screw Up Thor. If Marvel Does that, Well DC will get my Money from now on. Nuff Said!!
The ending in World War Hulk was disappointing as well, not to mention dragging out Civil War for more than 100+ books through various titles and then the Initiative.
Another Disappointment is Heros for Hire, you should have killed it with issue 2!!
I just wonder how bad you are going to Screw Up X-Men and the Fantastic Four now?!!

WHY
TO: MARVEL
FROM: Disappointed Fan
I am thoroughly disappointed. I have been with Marvel for a long time. I have defended storylines and even enjoyed some of the most despised ones (like inferno, or the clone saga). I got into comic books when I was in Junior High, some 20 years ago. I have since collected on again and off again with X-men titles, Spidey, Avengers and so on. I have read most every story and have some really large prized collections. I am disappointed in the One More Day Arc. I have never written a letter to anyone to show my dissatisfaction or to complain. I am just so surprised that you would blatantly just erase all that has happened to this character.
Spider-man is not a DC character. Well wasn’t until you turned him into one. I was able to relate to Peter and identify myself with some of those idiosyncrasies that he exhibited. His struggles and what not are what make the character. I can not relate with him now. I could not imagine being able to start over and not suffer. I really do not think a person of his intelligence and wisdom would have made any kind of deal with the devil. What a terribly thought out, cop out.
Thank god you are hopefully not going to do the same with Captain America. I love the way you have been handling that story it is like you are not running away from the corner you painted yourself in and writing an epic because of it. Why not Spidey?
If you wanted to get him single you should have done it a more reasonable way. Divorce, death, maybe Peter and MJ split for their survival. I just felt cheated out of the story and growth you were putting that fictional character through. Now this just seems like a cop out. I know I am an older fan and you want to make Spidey appeal to the new reader and younger audience, and you might accomplish it with this story. I really do not know. I think you have alienated your current fan base who read the book and follow the stories. Don’t you have marvel age and Ultimate Spidey to throw this kind of stunt on?
You didn’t just get rid of Love in his life but you brought back stuff that really can not be explained. Harry is back, he has web shooters again, what the heck is going on? If you guys fix this and kind of are doing a Days of Future Past story, I am in. But, I just do not think that is what you are doing. I have a family and am happy for what Marvel has given me and my entertainment through the years.
I know I seem to be whining and complaining like a little kid, but this actually hurt me in a way. This just seemed to take all of that controversial and poignant stuff that Strazynski composed over the years and flush it. I realize that you have to keep changing, but don’t just erase. Why couldn’t you have taken a note from Whedon on how he brought back Colossus? He did not just arbitrarily erase it he added to it and changed it to something else. I am so disappointed that you destroyed this character for me and the past continuity that it had. At least I still have back issues. I really do not know what else to say……

a happy fan
I've read Spidey for more years than I can remember. I enjoyed OMD - Joe's best art ever, especially parts 3 and 4. BND looks interesting and should be fun. Enjoy and relax, folks, don't take it all so personal ...

Joe Quesada;
i know no one of importance is ever going to read this, but this is me leaving my feedback.
the people who have been buying spider-man comics are people who are loyal and dedicated. changing the entire life of peter parker to make it add up to the movies is betrayal. I know you think that you will sell more, but honestly, the people that are going to fall for this are people who will love spider-man for a month at the most and then leave it like every other fad. You can't just.... do... this.......

I will always be surprised that Spider-Man's 90's animated series had a much better way to make the whole Parker-Watson marriage disappear. Not perfect, since it dealt with an MJ clone. But it's still better than a literal Deus (Diaboli) Ex Machina. Marvel could've easily just said "the last 20 years were just a dream" (note to editors and writers: if you ever decide to get Spider-Man's universe back to pre-OMD, have the whole BND and beyond be just a dream. It would be awesome).
Where was I? Oh, yes, Spider-Man animated. Well, it turned out the Mary Jane Peter married was a water-based clone created along that universe's Hydro, and Hydro considered they should be together, so he kidnapped her. Eventually, she evaporated (died), just before telling Peter that if she was even a little like the real MJ, the real one loved her inmeasurably. So, Peter decided he wouldn't rest until he found her, and then he kind forgot it for a while, but in the show's finale he meant Stan Lee who promised the 2 of them will eventually get back together.
Yup, not perfect, involving clones, but still better than OMD.

The whole storyline is beyond being a TURD its a Sewage farm.

KILL THE OLD GAL OFF AND GET THIS CRAP TURNED AROUND BEFORE YOU LOSE AN ARMY OF FANS.
Just cos a few think its a good idea and the stories good doesnt mean its gonna sell and if MARVEL are actually reading these posts dont treat your readers like turds.

SERIOUS FANS, PAY ATTENTION!
I KNOW WE ARE ALL BITTER, I KNOW WE ARE ALL FURIOUS, BUT THE ONLY SOLUTION, IS TO STOP BUYING THE SPIDER-BOOKS AND HANDLING THE SITUATION LIKE QUIET ADULTS.
THE MORE WE RANT, AND COMPLAIN, AND SCREAM OUT IN OUTRAGE, THE MORE PUBLICITY WE CREATE, THE MORE PEOPLE WE ATTRACT. IF YOU TRUELY DESPISE THE EVENTS OF OMD, & BND, YOUR GREATEST WEAPON IS MATURE DISTANCE.
-DO NOT RANT
-WHEN ASKED ABOUT RESPOND WITH NEGITIVE APATHY
-WRITE A CIVIL LETTER TO THE PUBLISHERS
THESE ARE THE ROADS BEST TAKEN -- GO ABOVE AND BEYOND JOE Q. GOTO THE CORE OF MARVEL, THE FANS, YOUR FRIENDS, AND THE PUBLISHER!
JUSTICE BE DONE & ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS.

You've erased my interest. I'm Done!
I've been reading spider-man comics since I was a little kid. he is without a doubt my favorite super hero & my favorite comic to read. today I walked into my comic book store & told them to remove all spider-man titles from my pulls cause I'm no longer going to buy the books.
I wasn't the 1st customer to tell them that today!
this was probably the hardest break-up I've ever had, but it had to be done. with one fell swoop, you completely erased my interest in my favorite hero & book.
you just erased the last 20 years. 20 years of caring about peter & MJ & their relationship. 20 years of time & money spent buying & reading all those comics. 20 years, gone just like that.
HOW DARE YOU DO THAT!!!
this is so much worse than the clone saga. as much as I didn't like that storyline, at least it didn't make me feel used. like all the emotion that I had invested in spidey didn't matter. and that's exactly how I feel right now. that you, marvel comics, don't really give a damn about my feelings toward spider-man.
so I'm done with buying the books. you've completely erased my interest in them. I mean, why should I continue reading when some 5, 10, 20 years from now you can just up and erase all of that. why give you another chance to disrespect me so again.
so I wish spidey all the best in this brand new day of his, but I won't be swinging along with him. I'm done.
hope you're happy.

Gripin'- Can You Really Take it?
Just finished OMD and BND #546 and I have to admit that I felt completely cheated with how the storyline was resolved . It was as if the history had been knocked out of me. How can you ask us to forget the last two decades or so of Spider-Man's life? You might as well ask us to forget the last two decades of our own as well, because they've gone hand-in-hand for many of us. Now I just want to pick up my old issues from the sixties and seventies and reread them instead. It'd make more sense than reading this new storyline, especially with your revamping the tired likes of Harry Osborn again. Not to mention the neve
